Laz Boregi Dessert
Welcome to Mutevazi Lezzetler Cuisine!
Today, we will share a dessert with syrup recipe with you.
It is called as "Laz Boregi"
Let’s see the ingredients before starting to see how to cook it.
For the dough:
2 eggs
1 cup warm water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 pinch salt
Flour, as much as the mixture gets in
For the Milk Pudding:
1 liter milk
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup flour
1 tbsp butter
1 egg
1 pack vanilla
1/2 tsp black pepper
For the Syrup:
2 + 1/2 cups water
2 + 1/2 cups granulated sugar
Juice of half lemon
For the Layers and Upper Side:
1/2 pack butter
1/3 cup vegetable oil
The syrup of the dessert must be cold, so we are preparing it first.
We are pouring 2 + 1/2 cups water into the pot…
adding 2 + 1/2 cups granulated sugar in it.
We are cooking it over medium heat.
When it reaches to the boiling temperature, we are turning the heat to low.
We are adding the lemon juice and boiling it for 10 more minutes…
and removing it from the stove.
When the syrup boils, we can prepare the dough.
We are breaking the eggs into the mixing bowl…
adding 1/3 cup of vegetable oil and 1 cup of warm water on it.
We are whisking it by a fork or a beater, until it turns into homogenous.
Yes, that is enough.
We are adding 1 pinch of salt in it.
It must be a bit, because we are cooking a dessert.
We are adding enough flour in it.
Enough means that, the dough must not steak to your hands during the kneading and it must have a medium conistency.
We are kneading the dough, by adding flour little by little in it.
If we add some more flour, it will reach the right consistency.
If we knead it a little more over the bench, it will be better.
It has reached the right consistency.
Now we will cover and rest it for 20 minutes.
For preparing the milk pudding, we are breaking the egg into the pot firstly.
We are adding 1 liter cold milk, 1 cup flour and 1 cup of granulated sugar.
Before turning on the heat, we are mixing it to dissolve the ingredients in the mixture.
We can turn on the heat now.
We are cooking it over medium heat by stirring constantly.
While cooking the milk pudding, I can see that the syrup has reached the right consistency.
So we can turn the heat off.
You can see the bubbles and the holes in the pudding.
Now we are adding 1 pack of vanilla, 1 tbsp butter in it.
And now, we are adding the surprising ingredient, 1/2 tsp black pepper, into the mixture.
And we are turning off the heat urgently.
We are cooling it down by mixing time to time.
By this way, we prevent the cream become over the mixture.
While the pudding cools down, we have melted the butter over low heat.
Then, we are going to add vegetable oil it also.
The dough is rested enough, so we can roll it out.
As you can see it has a great consistency.
We are cutting it into 8 equal pieces at first.
Now we can roll them out.
We are enlarging it a little bit by our fingertips.
Then, we are rolling it out by a rolling pin.
Now we can roll it around the pin.
The dough piece has reached the diameter of the baking tray.
So now, we are placing this dough into the greased baking tray as the first layer of the dessert.
Sometimes, I can forget to say that “We are greasing the tray”.
But, at every recipe the tray must be greased.
After placing this layer into the tray,
..we are spreading just 2 tbsp of the butter & vegetable oil mixture all over it.
We are going to place 4 layers by this way.
We are superposing the 4th layer over the greased 3rd one.
Now we are going to place the milk pudding over the 4th layer, so we are not greasing it.
We are pouring the cold milk pudding all over it.
We are flattening the pudding, but it is very important to prevent it from touching tray.
Because, in that case, it seems bad and it also affects the taste of the dessert.
We are placing the 5th flour over the pudding and we will keep on superposing them by the same way.
We are placing the last layer by attention.
We are pouring all of the oil mixture all over the last layer.
It is time to slice it.
It is traditionally sliced into squares.
But, we are going to cut it into stars to get a different appearance.
You can also try different styles.
Slicing process is finished.
Now we can place the tray into the oven, preheated to 356 F.
We will cook the dessert, until its surface turns into golden yellow.
After removing the dessert from the oven, we have rested it for 3 minutes.
We are pouring the cold syrup all over the dessert.
We can serve it, after it soaks the syrup totally.
At this video, we prepared it by 8 layers to make it easier.
But, you can use 10 or 12 layers also.
I am really sure that you will love it.
