Sultan Rings
Welcome to Mutevazı Lezzetler Cuisine!
Sincere greetings to all audiences
at this episode, we are sharing a dessert with syrup recipe
it is "Sultan Rings"
let’s see the ingredients list firstly
then we will see how to cook it
2 eggs
1 cup of yogurt
2 tbsp castor sugar
3 tbsp vegetable oil
1 pack of baking powder
1 pinch salt
and enough flour
for the upper side; 1/2 pack of butter
for the syrup; 2 + 1/2 cups of granulated sugar
2 + 1/2 cups of water
and juice of half lemon
I’m starting by boiling the syrup of the Sultan Rings
I’ll boil 2 + 1/2 cups of granulated sugar…
with 2 + 1/2 cups of water
when it reaches the boiling temperature, I’ll add the juice of half lemon
and boil it for 5 more minutes
while the syrup is boiling, I’ll keeping on ….
by preparing the dough
I’m breaking the 2 eggs
I’m adding 1 cup of yogurt on the egg
2 tbsp of castor sugar
and 3 tbsp of vegetable oil
I’ll be beating it, until the mixture smoothens
as you may see, it is totally smooth now
I’m adding 1 pinch of salt
and I’m adding flour, until it reaches a thicker consistency
I’m adding the baking powder onto the flour…
without making it touch to liquid mixture directly
and I’m beating the mixture for a while more
I’m removing the beater and I’m starting to knead the mixture by adding flour in it little by little
the syrup has reached the boiling temperature, I’m removing it from the stove
the dough has reached the right consistency, it is not too hard…
even it is not very soft, it does not stick to my hands
I’ll rest it for about 10 minutes
I’ve melted the butter without burning it
and I’m greasing the tray with some of the melted butter
the dough is rested, now I may shape it
I’m picking a piece in that size…
you may flour your fingers…
by dipping the middle finger or the thumb…
I’m shaping it like this
and placing it into the greased tray
it seems as a ring now, but it disappears during the baking almost
you may shape by this way also
why am I resting the dough? it is frequently asked
because, it is easier to shape the rested dough…
so it is important to rest the dough
I’ve placed the last ring also…
after cooling the melted butter down a little…
I’m spreading it all over the rings now
I’ve greased the rings with too much butter
now I’m placing the tray into the preheated oven…
until they turn into golden yellow, the heat is 392 F
I have removed the rings from the oven, as you may see their color is great…
after cooling them for 3 minutes, I’ll pour the syrup all over
now I may pour the cold syrup all over the hot rings
the rings will be soaked the syrup in about 2 hours
I’m resting it at room temperature
