Flour Halva
Welcome to the "Mutevazi Lezzetler" Cuisine!
Today i will give you a very delicious traditional Turkish dessert recipe: "Flour Halva"
Let's see our economic ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/2 pack of margarine or butter
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1 + 1/2 cups sugar
Cinnamon for garnish
Pour 1 cup water and 1 cup milk into the bowl.
Add 1 + 1/2 cups sugar in it.
Mix it, until the sugar dissolves totally...
And put this mixture aside.
Put the margarine into the hot pot.
When it melts, add the flour on it urgently.
Roast it for about 13-15 minutes, until it turns into pink.
This is the color which we want to reach.
Now turn off the heat and rest it for 5 minutes.
The reason of the resting is cooling the pot down to prevent the liquid from spurt out.
And now, add the mixture.
It is hot yet!
Now turn on the heat again and stir it, until it stops to stick to the pot.
As you can see, it is not sticking to the pot now. So, it is OK!
Now turn off the heat.
Place a paper towel between the pot and its lid.
Rest it for 20 minutes for steeping.
As you can see, it is very easy to cook this dessert.
As a summary:
We mixed the water,milk and sugar. Then put this mixture aside.
Then, roasted the flour with 1/2 pack of margarine for about 13 minutes.
Turned off the heat and rested it for 5 minutes, added the liquid mixture.
Cooked it, until it stops to stick to the pot.
Now we are resting it for 20 minutes.
OK, now it is steeped.
Remove the paper.
It is time to serve.
I use a original spoon to serve it, but you can use a different one.
Wet the spoon.
Place the halva into the spoon firmly by forcing on it.
Reverse it onto the service plate.
Wet your spoon again, before placing each part of the halva.
Fill the plate by this way.
Now, sprinkle cinnamon all over.
